Challenge South West was formed in 2003 by a group of off-road enthusiasts who wanted to move on from trialling, and put something back into the sport and encourage newcomers into the world of 4x4 Winch Challenge events.  We can justifiably claim to be one of the first organisations dedicated in this field, and we are still at the forefront of 4x4 Winch Challenge Events.

The Club was primarily started for off-road enthusiasts who are interested in off road winch events which test their vehicles and team, but now also include Trials, Terra Tagging, camping and social events. We try very hard not to intentionally destroy the environment or vehicles and set up events to cater for all skill levels from total novice to hardened professional.  The tasks set are many and varied, some almost beyond even the most accomplished team but there's always something for everybody.

In 2008 we ran the first De-Cider Trophy event which rapidly gained popularity in the UK for being one of the top must do events on the Challenge Event scene. This is our single largest income provider which helps to fund our independent insurance which allows us the freedom to run our events the way we do.     At the same time this event has also gained the us one of the best UK reputations for the way we look after our marshals team, with many marshals travelling from all over the UK just to help out.

We have events nearly every month which are listed on the events calendar with some competitors coming from all over the country for our club two day event and the De-Cider Trophy.

We would welcome you whether you wish to come along and have a chat and find out more about the club and what we do or marshal/compete at an event.

All vehicles used on our events must be four wheel drive but you can join the club without a vehicle.  Winches and other off road paraphanalia are not compulsory but in most events (except Terra-Tag) you will find you will be stopped by the terrain quite early on without at least a winch.
