The 2nd February 2020 was our first winch challenge event of the year, held at Martins Park, Whiddon Down, Devon.
The event was something a little special, it was run as a ‘one winch only’ competition and if that wasn’t enough, a complete lap course was set up with 20 punches hidden. Each competitor had to get 5 punches per lap. Suddenly it wasn’t just about the punches, as the course had become very slippery from the night before rain, making the simplest manoeuvre challenging!
The competitors dug deep and took on the laps with passion, resulting in some interesting mechanical failures and an amazing ability to repair and conquer.
Once again this little site didn’t disappoint, and remains a great venue for all classes of Winch Challenge 👍.
In the end, David Bennett and his formidable Suzuki Jimny took 1st place , with Lewis Roberts just 100 points behind to take 2nd place in his Toyota LandCruiser. Well done guys, I hope the cider hit the spot 👌
Thanks to our volunteers who come and marshal at CSW events , Trailer Medic for sponsoring and Odyssey Batteries for the event tape 😎.
Next event is April 26th at Week Farm , Torrington. See you in a field 😉
Cheers, Ant.
